About Us
New Zealand
Ambulance Services
New Zealand Ambulance
Services (NZAS) was set up to promote professional, competent
Ambulance Services and provide a “voice” for participant
organisations.
Independent Ambulance
operators in New Zealand lack representation within the
Ministry of Health and Accident Compensation Corporation and
other core organisations that
influence Pre-Hospital Emergency Care in New Zealand.
Our aim is to have these
orgainsations
recognise the incredibly important role we play in the
health and wellbeing of the community.
Another goal for the NZAS
is to investigate sustainability and explore funding options
for our participant organisations.
The NZAS believes the
Ambulance Industry requires a registration process to ensure
the public are receiving competent, safe emergency care,
while the Ambulance Industry in New Zealand is unregulated,
opening the door for anyone to operate an “Ambulance” service
or call themselves a “Paramedic.
We are not a Union, but
take an active interest in issues that relate to the Ambulance
Industry. As we evolve we will update this website to keep
you the end user informed
